Bromelain is a mixture of proteolytic enzymes derived from the pineapple plant. It can reduce bruising and swelling, promote healing after trauma or surgery, and speed the resorption of hematomas.*
Bromelain – a mixture of proteolytic (protein-digesting) enzymes from the pineapple plant (Ananas comosus) – has been shown to promote healing and reduce temporary and minor swelling and bruising following trauma or surgical procedures – including dental surgery.* Bromelain's efficacy is attributable to its significant proteolytic activity.* Plastic surgeons have shown interest in bromelain because of its ability to increase the resorption rate of hematomas following surgery.* One study of patients with bone fractures found bromelain decreased post-operative swelling.*

Usage
Take 2 capsules one to three times daily or as recommended by your health professional.
Because bromelain has fibrinolytic effects, potentially inhibiting blood clotting, Bromelain should be used with caution or avoided in individuals on anticoagulant therapy. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medications or have a medical condition, please consult your healthcare practitioner before use. It is not recommended to remove the Bromelain powder from the capsule to take orally, as it can be irritating to the oral mucosa. Keep out of the reach of children.
