Description
Red Yeast Rice from Protocol for Life Balance® may lower glycemic levels in the body. Red yeast rice is a substance that is extracted from rice and fermented with a certain type of red yeast. Traditionally used in China and other Asian countries‚ this composition contains several natural ingredients such as monacolins‚ sterols‚ isoflavones along with monounsaturated fatty acids that may drastically reduce glycemic levels in the body. Protocol for Life Balance® produces this supplement with the utmost care to avoid the presence of citrinin‚ a toxin that is a byproduct of fermentation.
Initial studies suggest the possibility that red yeast rice may be helpful in regulating both our circulatory and cardiovascular health. It has also been suggested that red yeast rice may be able to lower LDLs (Low Density Lipids i.e. "bad" cholesterol) while improving HDLs (High Density Lipids i.e. "good" cholesterol).

Usage
Suggested Use
As a dietary supplement, take 2 vcaps 1-2 times daily, preferably with meals. Recommended to be taken in combination with CoQ10 and Milk Thistle extract
Store in a cool, dry place. Do not use if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breast feeding, because using this product may harm the fetus.
Red Yeast Rice is well tolerated when taken as directed. Do not use in conjunction with cholesterol-lowering medications, during pregnancy or lactation, if consuming more than two alcoholic drinks per day, or if you are under twenty years of age. Individuals with liver disease or taking any prescription medication should consult a physician before taking this product.
